May Pictures
Monday, May 26th, Memorial Day
We went to Tammy's parent's house to see them, her sister Deena's family, and her brother Matt's family visiting from Philadelphia. It was good to see the cousins having such a great time together. The kids went hiking with Uncle Cary to search for wildlife. The kids caught some bugs, but that was all. Uncle Cary found a ringneck snake for them to play with later. Caleb was thrilled! After the morning hike, Grandma served a delicious brunch! Blueberry Pancakes, Fruit, Breakfast casserole, bacon, sausage, etc. Later the kids played in the blow-up pool and had chicken nuggets to snack on to hold them over for the delicious dinner of BBQ ribs, corn on the cob, garlic bread, and watermelon, then ice cream for dessert! The men went golfing in the heat of the day. Grandpa and Matt tied to win and Cary and Eric followed closely behind them. They came back quite sunburned! The day closed with horseback rides on Little Rock. She is so gentle and patient! Little Buddy was put in the barn. He wasn't happy to be left out! He "neighed" his complaints for all to hear!
Friday, May 23rd
Emery will be a guest on Bindy Irwin's show someday!
"Date Day": Saturday, May 3rd
Cary asked Emery where she would like to go for a "date" with Daddy. She said she wanted to go to Phinizy Swamp and hike and see snakes. Cary was all over that! They were out all day and Emery came home with energy left over! A picture of one of the "finds" of the day is below.
Graham wanted to go to McDonalds for his date with Mommy. He also got to go to Books A Million and pick out a book. He chose a book about snakes! Imagine that. Graham and Mom came home expecting Emery and Cary to be home too, but since they weren't home yet, they read the Snakes book and then watched Peter Pan.
Graham's Quotes - May 3rd
At McDonald's, Graham was playing in the playland area and we came to me sort of bothered that a boy bigger than him said, "No" to him. He didn't know why, but it sort of hurt his feelings. After he ate his nuggets, I saw him going up to the big boy and he was getting up close to the boy's face to say something. I asked Graham what he said to the boy and he told me, "I said, 'will you forgive me' ". How sweet. The boy was grinning, but didn't really know what to say.
Graham had to go to his room to sit on his bed because he was jumping on the couch after being told not to. When I called him to come back, he said, "I was praying and asking Jesus to help me to not be mean". Oh well, at least he knows to ask Jesus for help!
Painting our interior doors. May 7th
It will be nice to reinstall these freshly painted doors upstairs!
Fun with the neighbor friends! May 7th
The kids had fun playing in the neighbor's kiddie pool and running through the water from the hose.
Ladies Luncheon, May 10th
Tammy & Emery
Emery was so excited to go to the "tea party". On the way home from the luncheon I asked her if she had fun. She said, "Not really". It just wasn't what she had pictured in her little imagination, I guess. She was probably thinking Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Snow White, and Cinderella were going to be there or something.
Emily and Madeline
These girls are in our JV Awana class. We will miss them as they go on to HS next year.
